Open My Eyes, Lord by Gary Oates

Open My Eyes, Lord: A Practical Guide to Angelic Visitations and Heavenly Experiences by Gary Oates will be used as a jumping off point for discussion and prayer.  Long-time pastor, Gary Oates, had a dramatic encounter with God that changed his life and ministry. He was caught up into the Presence of the Lord to see the ministry of angels. Today, he travels the world using the gift of discerning angelic activities to bring salvation, healing, and deliverance. Please contact Jan Arey (jarey@richlandbaptist.com) for more information. All are welcome to join.

Day/Time: Meets Thursday 6:30 – 8:00 pm, except for the Thursday after a Sunday Outreach
Study:  TBA
Contact: Jim Bethany jbethany@richlandbaptist.com or Christine Blosser at cblosser1@cox.net.

We will be meeting every Thursday night in the Fellowship Hall, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  We hope to eventually move to a private home or homes once people are more comfortable regarding Covid-19. Our primary mission focus will be helping to provide a hot meal for the homeless at New Generation Outreach one Sunday a month, but we will also be doing other things to impact our community.  We will not meet on the Thursday following the Sunday outreach. A potluck meal will be shared at life group with those who are comfortable with that.  Others may bring their own meals if they like.  We will have a varied schedule in our evening meeting regarding prayer and a study.  Anyone in the church who is interested in helping to feed the homeless (or any other mission projects this life group does) is welcome to help out.  We will be publicizing what we will be doing in terms of outreach and mission focus.

The Book of James by Francis Chan

True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who've faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.

Francis Chan unpacks the dense truth contained in the book of James in front of the iconic backdrop of San Francisco, the city where he lives and ministers. Through 12 sessions, Francis works through James verse-by-verse, challenging followers of Christ to move beyond a private, intellectual knowledge of God and His Word, to a vibrant faith that impacts every square inch of life.
