Intercessory Prayer by Dutch Sheets

This Life Group is meeting at the church (Meeting room at the top of the ramp) on alternating Wednesday mornings from 10:00 - 12:00. They will be starting a new study on Wednesday, February 24 called Intercessory Prayer by Dutch Sheets. If God is all-powerful, why does he need us to pray? Do you ever wonder if your petitions really make any difference? Discover the awesome power of intercession! Sheets will inspire you to pray with courage and persistence to a God who hears your words---before you even speak them. Please contact Jan Arey (jarey@richlandbaptist.com) for more information. All are welcome to join.

The Book of 1 Peter  by Kyle Idleman

This world looks nothing like the promised perfect kingdom of God. And yet we as God's people must live in it every day. In The Book of 1 Peter, Kyle Idleman walks through the short letter and unpacks the importance of our witness in this world.

The world's not as it should be. Until the day that God rights all wrongs, we have a job to do. Let's be about the business of the kingdom.

Thursday Night Life Group

6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

This Life Group meets on Thursday nights in the Fellowship Hall (6:30-8:00 p.m.) to share a potluck meal (we maintain “social distancing” during the meal) and we have committed to helping New Generation Outreach feed the homeless in Fredericksburg a hot lunch every Sunday (our Sunday is the second Sunday of each month).  We will also be doing other things to reach out to the community.  We are now in a study called Jesus in the Secular World:  Reaching a Culture in Crisis.  The study will last eight sessions.  We will watch and discuss a short video segment by Ben Pierce each night, and then take some practical steps during the week to try to understand the culture around us so that we might be more effective in reaching out to it.  We also pray together every time we meet.   The group does NOT meet the Thursday night following feeding the homeless.  Anyone in the church who is interested in helping to feed the homeless (or any other mission projects this life group does) is welcome to help.

Thursday Night Life Group

This Life Group meets at the Stewart Home every Thursday night.  For more information contact Sam Stewart at samwho1@verizon.net, Roxy Stewart at rstewart@richlandbaptist.com.

The Book of James by Francis Chan

True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who've faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.

Francis Chan unpacks the dense truth contained in the book of James in front of the iconic backdrop of San Francisco, the city where he lives and ministers. Through 12 sessions, Francis works through James verse-by-verse, challenging followers of Christ to move beyond a private, intellectual knowledge of God and His Word, to a vibrant faith that impacts every square inch of life.
