Serving Guatemala

In Guatemala, Richland has a longstanding relationship with Prince of Peace home for girls. All the girls in the home are there by court order.  Many of them have experienced horrific circumstances in their homes or communities, so this is an opportunity to minister the healing love of Christ to severely wounded girls.  Generally, the home ministers to girls five years old and up (occasionally, as in the case of siblings removed from a home, there may be even younger girls at Prince of Peace).  The goal of the home is to help these girls to grow up to know Jesus and to be confident and productive Guatemalan women. Each year Richland sends a team of adults and youth to love on the girls, listen, share life, and simply build relationship with the girls. We come along side the long-term local caregivers and aspire to be an encouragement to them as well as the girls and help in any way possible, whether physical, emotional, spiritual, or financial.
